Throw it Away.
Every relationship in life, is like a glass ornament, everyone can see how beautiful and strong it is, but when you are the one holding it, you really know how it is. But once you drop it, it shatters, into a million pieces everywhere. You can try all you want, but you will NEVER find every single piece that is missing, you will never repair it to the exact unbroken beauty it was before. You can try and try and try, but all you wind up with is cuts from the glass. Once you let it shatter, your only viable option is to clean up the mess, leave it with a clean break and move on. Maybe, down the road, you'll find the exact same ornament in all its unbroken beauty, like it was waiting for you this entire time. Then all you need to do is take it off the shelf and show it off to the world. But maybe, you'll never find one exactly like it, maybe you'll find a really different one, in some place you never expected to, and someone you never expected to hold it with you will. But then again, you could never find another one because you're still trying to either fix the broken one, or try to find another one exactly like it, then you only hurt yourself. The glass hurts. You can spend months trying to fix it, but you never will, you'll spend twice as long trying to take out the fragments of class embedded in your skin, because for a while there, you did not mind the pain because it was starting to be fixed. You gave everything you could to that ornament, but nothing happened. It lays there shattered. Broken. You feel so stupid and worthless for not being able to fix something that was once SO amazing, but you just can not do it, it drains you, everyday waking up trying to fix it going to bed trying to fix it. Repeating these pointless actions every single day. For what? Nothing. It's broken. You never realized that until it was way too late. Until it completely shattered in your face and you finally looked in a mirror and saw the scars this left you with. You finally see what everyone is telling you about, how dead you are because this is killing you. You do not realize that you simply cannot take anymore cuts from this shattered glass, that you must simply sweep it up and throw it away. Throw it away, no matter how hard it hurts. No matter how precious and important it was to you. You just need to throw it away and look back on all the beauty you once had with it.
